On July 1, 2020 in collaboration with SMART (Smart Meeting Anesthesia Resuscitation Intensive Care) we are hosting the WEBINAR entitled “Minimally Invasive CO2 Removal: From Theory to Practice” with a panel of world-reknown experts.
PROGRAM
Chairperson: M. Quintel (Goettingen)
First physiology: the Baby Lung, the COVID-19 Lung and potential role of CO2 removal
L. Gattinoni (Goettingen)
Mini-Invasive CO2 removal: experience in Hypercapnic Respiratory Failure
M. Maggiorini (Lucerne)
Application of Mini-Invasive CO2 removal in ARDS and COVID-19
D. Chiumello (Milano)
During this webinar we will analyze the potential of minimally invasive extracorporeal CO2 removal (LF-ECCO2-R). Starting from concepts of respiratory pathophysiology, we will discuss the differences between a lung in the clinical context defined as ARDS and in COVID-19 disease, and try to identify the best patient-tailored ventilatory strategies including rationale and potential for a well-designed minimally invasive extracorporeal CO2 removal system in the management of the patient’s ventilatory support in order to prevent potential ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI).
