The Inoue® catheter for PTMC (percutaneous transvenous mitral commissurotomy) from TORAY is indicated for patients with mitral valve stenosis.
The treatment is performed without thoracotomy and can therefore be performed in elderly patients, patients with renal insufficiency, pregnant patients, and other patients who are vulnerable to major surgical interventions.
The single balloon catheter provides a sufficient expansion range to ensure a simple and safe procedure. The volume-controlled hourglass shape of the balloon ensures proper positioning at the stenosis, prevents migration of the catheter, and provides optimal dilation. The unique balloon construction exhibits dynamic inflation properties sufficient for valvular expansion. Rapid inflation/deflation cycle (5 sec.) quickly returns the valve to normal function.
